Create and run community groups — spaces around a cause or topic with their own feed and members-only chat. How to edit your group and choose public vs. private.
What groups are
Groups are community spaces built around a cause or topic, separate from teams. Each group has its own feed of posts and a members-only chat. Group posts are private to the group and never appear in the public community feeds.
Creating a group
- Go to Groups and choose "Create a group".
- Give it a name and a short description (this becomes the group's About).
- Pick visibility: Public (anyone can join) or Private (invite-only, hidden posts).
Editing your group
If you own the group, open the About tab and choose "Edit group" to update the name, description (About) and visibility at any time. The group's link stays the same when you rename it.
Members & chat
- Join/leave from the group page. Owners can invite members and remove them.
- The Chat tab is members-only — a live space to talk with the group.
Public vs. private
Anyone can find and join a public group. A private group is invite-only and its posts stay inside it. Either way, what's posted in a group stays in the group.
